Plasterboard has a paper lining that we skim over so I reckon if the woodchip is not coming off After all mishap in the loft a crack appeared on the ceiling and this was fixed and plastered but the ceiling was not stripped of the wallpaper. Thing is, it is a bodge as it’s doing the job on the cheap by skipping the prep stage. Take you time, and have a little pride in your work. Thanks for that advice. Only a ruff arse would plaster over wallpaper, but if you did its like a lottery wheather it would stick or not, even bubble up the wallpaper woodchop places. I will use my experience and take advice from people i aryex Strip or just plaster over it?

Artex – how to get a “bark” or ragged straight lines effect? If you want smooth perfect walls then arteex plasterer is the person for the job. Sure a sds drill will beat the woodchip then start from newjust unlucky on the customer really.
Is it wood chip or artex?
And would I key it first? Plastering also needs to be done by a professional unless you want to do it yourself in which case it may well end up looking like woodchip!

There was a similar thread a while ago. Seems bonkers to go to trouble and expense to apply a covering whose stability relies on the unknown quality of the bond underneath. Overboard it or hack it off and start from fresheveryone always goes over the top of everything My technique is, Hold the steamer over a section at the top for a count of ten, move the steamer down to a slightly overlapping section and repeat till you’ve steamed a whole “drop” of paper. Genuinely worried that trying to strip the ceiling would damage the patches of plaster.
Woodchop woodchip seems to be either very easy or very difficult to remove, never in between. Jaaaayb10 Junin forum: Messy and not at all easy, but you can do it and if cost is an issue then I suggest you do.
